The Road Back to "Normal"

So I've been enjoying life without real deal chemo these past few months and blogging hasn't been a priority for me.  However, I recently started to realize that I've been missing it.  So I'm back at it and hopefully will keep up with it on a more consistent basis.

Update on my Treatments:  I've had several Avastin infusions - still on an every 3 week schedule (just had one this past Tuesday -9/11).  I'n not sure how long I will stay on Avastin but it is hands down better than the triple threat real deal chemo I was on before!!  I'm so grateful to not have that week one recovery where I feel like total, utter crap!  And it's so nice to have an appetite and for food to taste good consistently!!  As far as side effects of the Avastin - I've been lucky and am only experiencing some nasal congestion and back pain.  My massages with Juli at Knead Deep Therapy every 3-4 weeks have really been a life saver!!

What's New With Us:  I've been doing pretty well over all.  Each week I get a little more of my strength back and I am on the road to "normal" or maybe a "new normal".  I still do get tired towards the end of the work day and the fatigue seems to build up during the work week so I use my evenings and weekends to rest, relax, and recuperate.
Nathan is still growing out those locks with a goal of donating once it's long enough.  Check out a few recent pics (not sure why I always take a pic when he is drinking - haha)

Some Cool Things of Late:
  • The first week of July we took a trip to Toronto Canada and to Lake Huron to visit Nathan's family.  We had an amazing time - great people, great food, great memories!!
  • Traveled to West Virginia on July 21st for the McCracken Family reunion - I was super bummed to find out we're no longer playing BINGO at the reunion
  • Attended the Ohio State Fair with the family.  It always brings back such good memories of when I was young and my grandparents had a legit lemonade stand.
  • Celebrated my bother's birthday with a family trip to The Ohio Renaissance Festival - it was a hot day but we had a blast!!
  • It's wedding season!!  Attended a few wedding celebrations in July and August.  Congrats to all the happy couples!!
  • Oh yeah - and my hair is starting to grow back ^ ^ ^ 🙂
