I had my 7th Avastin infusion a few weeks ago on October 23rd. We pretty much have it down to a science now. I get my labs drawn on Monday morning before I go in to work, get my infusion Tuesday morning, and then head in to work. I've been very lucky to have normal labs and no serious side effects so far! Nathan and I spoke with my Oncologist and the plan is to continue the Avastin for at least two more cycles and then to get scans again at the beginning of December. If the scans look good I will most likely be able to stop the Avastin infusions!!
What's Been Going On:
-At the beginning of October, Nathan and I were lucky to have a nice long three day weekend where we visited family and just "maxed-relaxed".
- I traveled to Dallas, Texas for a few days in mid-October for a work conference. It was a very positive experience and I am excited to use what I learned to be a better preceptor for pharmacy students/residents.- Nathan, myself, Ginny (Nathan's mom), and Katie (dear friend and a big fan of PC) went to see Phil Collins in concert!! His aptly named tour "Not Dead Yet" is perfect timing for me (I feel you PC - I feel you!!)
-Nathan and I have attended several birthday celebrations - Happy Birthday to Sophie (10 - can't believe you are in the double digits now!!) , Baby Ollie (3 - such a big girl now!!), and Phil (turned the big 4-0 this year!!)
- Later today we will be celebrating the marriage of my cousin Josh and his wife Cassie. Congrats you two!!
What's on the Horizon:
- Nathan is talking part in the Movember fund raising event to increase awareness of men's health as a member of the JAMES PHARMACY MUSTACHIONADOS. Visit his fund raising page to donate (this year's mustache with the long hair is definitely going to be an interesting look for him 🤣).
- I am looking forward to the holiday season and spending time with my family and friends!!
