June and July in a nutshell:

My first HBO treatment |
- Back to the Grind: I'm back to work full time and boy oh boy does it keep me busy. I've found that being on the other side of things has made me even more compassionate for patients and even more passionate about the work I do!!
- HBO isn't just for watchin' Game of Thrones... On June 15th I started Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments (or HBO as they call it) in attempt to help with some remaining symptoms caused by radiation. The two hour treatment basically involves being inside a special chamber with pressurized air. The body takes up extra oxygen which can help tissue heal more quickly. I had treatment sessions Monday through Saturday at the James (no treatment on Independence Day) and finished my 20th treatment on July 9th. I wouldn't say that HBO treatments were "fun" but I did meet some awesome nurses, made a few HBO friends, and got to watch a lot of movies!
- Celebrated with family and friends - Andrew's t-ball game, a wedding (congrats Bill and Helka), Zoombezi Bay (with Nathan, Jessica, and Andrew), movie night with the Crew, family reunion in West Virginia, a baby shower (yay Lauren S.), birthday parties for some kiddos (Jackson and Paisley), and a few fancy dinners (so thankful that food is tasting good again)
- And some really good new..... I had my 3 month CT scan on Monday July 29th and the results are good - no signs of cancer!
